Our School

The School Organisation

The school organisation enables the coordination of information and work among the Administration team, the faculty and the parents, so that the school can provide the best possible education for the children.

We encourage the obvious need for a strong social and cultural community around the school to be provided by the parents who can support the school by getting involved.

Responsibility for various activities within the school will be carried out by the following groups: the Faculty, the Parent Association, the School Administration, the Advisory Board and the Board of Directors.

The Faculty

We hire teachers with at least a university degree or equivalent, with teaching certificates obtained from their home country. Because the responsibility for quality eduation at our school depends on the faculty as a group, we employ highly motivated, well-qualified teachers, who are experienced to work professionally with children. We employ teachers from different countries, who have teaching degrees/certificates and are qualified to teach in their own countries. The further professional self-development of our faculty is on our priority list.

Parent Association

All parents automatically become members of the parent association upon enrollment of the child(ren), and those wishing to contribute to the school will do so through attending the parents meetings which are held at the school. These meetings will provide opportunities for the parents, the faculty and the school board to exchange important information with one another as well as to plan events to benefit the school community.

The Parent Association will be there to encourage volunteer development and a sense of shared responsibility for the well being of the school. It will assist the faculty and the administration and will be organizing school events that benefit the school.

Parents as Partners: Our school seeks to develop the partnership with parents because the first and most enduring educators of children are parents. Parent evenings, interviews and school reports will enable us to a two-way flow of information, knowledge and expertise. We intend to achieve partnership with parents through the following common features of effective practice which are recommended by QCA (Qualifications and Curriculum Authority, England and Wales):

    -all parents are made to feel welcome, valued and necessary through a range of different opportunities for collaboration between children, parents and the teaching staff;

    -arrangements for settling in are flexible enough to give time for children to become secure and for teachers and parents to discuss each child’s circumstances, interests, skills and needs;

    -teachers show respect and understanding for the role of the parent in their child’s education;

    -the past and future part played by parents in the education of their children is recognised and explicitly encouraged;

    -teachers listen to parents‘ accounts of their child’s development and any concerns they have;

    -teachers use a variety of ways to keep parents fully informed about the curriculum;

    -parents and teachers talk about and record information about the child’s progress and achievements, for example through meetings;

    -relevant learning and play activities, such as reading and sharing books are continued at home.
